The Giant Roam Range - Comfortable Hybrid Performance for Everyday Riders
Giant builds the Roam 1 from ALUXX SL aluminium, a higher-grade alloy than the ALUXX used in the Roam 2 and Roam 3. All three models share the same hybrid geometry, with a flat-bar position that works well for riders who spend time in the saddle for fitness as well as commuting and leisure. The frame accepts rack and mudguard mounts for practical everyday use.
The Roam 1 is the best-specified model in the range, with ALUXX SL frame and hydraulic disc brakes providing the most reliable year-round performance. The Roam 2 and Roam 3 use ALUXX aluminium and mechanical disc brakes at progressively more accessible price points. All three models use 700c wheels with a tyre width suited to road and light path cycling.
The Giant Roam range is available at Sprockets Cycles on Ayr Road, Kilmarnock. Our team can help you compare the Roam with the Escape and advise on which model fits your commuting and leisure riding needs. Rack and mudguard accessories are available in store. Call 01563 526800.

FAQs
-
What is the difference between the Giant Roam 1 and the Giant Escape Disc 1?
Both are flat-bar road bikes with disc brakes, but the Roam has a slightly more relaxed riding position suited to comfort over longer rides. The Escape Disc 1 has a more efficient, slightly more aggressive position. If all-day comfort is the priority, the Roam is the better choice; if commuting pace and efficiency matter more, the Escape Disc 1 is worth considering. -
Can I fit a rear rack to the Giant Roam?
Yes β the Roam has rack mounts. Compatible racks are available in store at Sprockets Cycles. A rack and panniers make the Roam a practical commuter; mudguards are also recommended for year-round use in Scottish weather. -
Is the Giant Roam suitable for light gravel paths?
The Roam runs 700c wheels and can accommodate slightly wider tyres than a road bike. It handles light gravel paths, towpaths, and hard-packed surfaces comfortably. For proper off-road or loose gravel riding, the Revolt range is better suited. -
